About Toushade

Our Founder Polly Wilson

Toushadé founder Polly Wilson is a creator at heart. Throughout her seventy years, she has worn many hats, but her love for designing and making beautiful things has always been a constant, especially when it comes to textiles.

As the founder and creative director of Barn Dandys, Polly developed a line of children’s accessories inspired by the rustic charm of Western living. Her passion for vintage fabrics, her life alongside a generational cattle rancher in Colorado, and her sense of whimsy came together in a collection of teepees, bedrolls, TV trays, and dishes made just for children.

Now a grandmother living in Tulsa, Polly divides her time between the city and the family ranch outside Bartlesville, where her son, daughter-in-law, and three grandsons live and run the operation.

Life is wonderfully full with the launch of Toushade”, where Polly’s love of textiles has found its newest expression. Today, Toushade has become a true family affair. Polly’s son and grandsons proudly call themselves the Board of Directors, daughter-in-law Kalyn oversees the business operations, and her mother, Jodie Shorter, lends her remarkable talents as both a pattern designer and exceptional seamstress. Together, they bring Polly’s vision to life, creating beautiful custom lampshade slipcovers that add pattern, texture, and personality to homes everywhere.
